Crothall Healthcare Recognized with Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award for Work at Providence Saint John’s Health Center

August 11, 2026 – Crothall Healthcare has announced that its environmental services team at Providence Saint John’s Health Center has been recognized in Business Intelligence Group’s (BIG) 2026 Sustainability Awards in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category. These annual awards recognize organizations, products, teams, and individuals that are turning sustainability commitments into real, measurable results.

The award recognizes the work of Providence Saint John’s EVS team, provided by Crothall Healthcare, for leadership in environmental stewardship in healthcare operations. By embedding sustainable practices into everyday workflows, the team has implemented innovative waste diversion programs, transitioned to more environmentally responsible products, increased staff engagement, and maintained exceptional compliance standards. These efforts have delivered measurable environmental results while creating a model for healthcare sustainability that can be replicated nationwide.

Key efforts included transitioning to battery-free hand sanitizer dispensers, expanding recycling and medical device recovery programs, increasing the use of green-certified cleaning products, and engaging associates through education and training to strengthen adoption of sustainable practices.
