Crothall Healthcare Recognized for Global Sustainability Efforts

WAYNE, PA—August 30, 2023—Today, the Business Intelligence Group recognized Crothall Healthcare (Crothall) as part of the 2023 Sustainability Awards program, which honors those people, teams, and organizations who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice or overall mission.

Crothall Healthcare won the Sustainable Service of the Year award for its Medical Waste Reduction Initiative using new technology from Ozone Medical Waste Treatment Systems at  Monument Health in Rapid City. After piloting the system, the hospital now uses only a quarter of the electricity that was required for waste disposal. Because the waste is shredded, the cubic volume being sent to landfills is 73% less than usual.
