Make A Difference

The hospital admitted a patient that had been very unhappy at another local hospital. Wanting to ensure the patient would have a better experience, the entire staff tried to make everything picture perfect. Housekeeper Beverly Tandy introduced herself to the patient and her family, letting them know she would be cleaning their room for the week. She asked if there was anything she could do for them. The patient’s daughter said, “As a matter of fact, you can. I have not had a cup of coffee or anything to eat today. Could you tell me where the nearest coffee machine is located?” Beverly had something better in mind.

She made a fresh pot of coffee and returned to the room. Much to the surprise of the family member, Beverly had not only returned with a fresh cup of coffee, but also sandwiches and cookies. She was so delighted and was amazed at the individual care and compassion that Beverly Tandy demonstrated. The patient and family members did nothing but rave about the care throughout the duration of their stay in the hospital.
