Make A Difference

In support of Diane Hubbard, a letter of recommendation was drafted on U.S. Department of Defense letterhead, and signed by eight officers at Martin Army Community Hospital. Below is an excerpt that details why her remarkable compassion has made such an impact:

"Mrs. Hubbard is an energetic, hard-charging employee who is very dependable. Although she is very busy, she always finds time and strength to help someone else. Her compassion and generosity are demonstrated on a daily basis. Recently, one of our soldiers was hospitalized and diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Mrs. Hubbard was immediately at the forefront in rendering support and assistance. Without prompting, she prepared a very appetizing lunch for this soldier and a few of her friends and associates. When the soldier was discharged from the hospital, Mrs. Hubbard kept in close contact to ensure she had home-cooked food. On Thanksgiving Day, she prepared and delivered a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner to the soldier and her family.

"It is certain that Mrs. Hubbard is not expecting any favors or rewards for her human acts of kindness, for going beyond requirements, and for doing above what was expected. She exemplifies the spirit of Martin Army Community Hospital's mission and vision. Her selfless service, strong sense of duty, and goodwill are to be emulated by others. It is without question that Mrs. Hubbard should be granted this noble award and publicly recognized for her outstanding accomplishments and contributions."
