Make a Difference Winner

JPS created its "Champions" award to honor the employee who best demonstrates the health system's values through everyday performance. We are so proud to learn that the prize this year went to Raymond Tucker, a Crothall employee. Over Raymond's almost 15 years at JPS, he has developed a reputation as an ambassador to patients, families, and employees. Early each morning, Raymond can be found policing the front entries, greeting arriving executives, doctors, and staff- most by name. Raymond also seeks out lost visitors and directs them to their destinations.

One doctor commented on Raymond's behavior, noting, "I have seen him help wheelchair-bound patients navigate into the hospital, and he volunteers to carry the belongings of patients using crutches. He greets all patients with a smile and 'hello.' He enthusiastically performs his duties, saying he wants the hospital to be attractive because the appearance of the facility makes the first impression on patients and their families."
