Crothall Momentum
Environmental Services–
Piloting Infection
Control Technologies
To ensure that we remain the
industry leader in infection
control, Crothall is currently
conducting pilot programs to test
different technologies designed
to eliminate nearly all microbial
organisms that may be present on
surfaces within a hospital. The
first uses a focused and measured
dose of UV-C radiation to eradicate
bacteria in an entire room in
a matter of minutes. The second
uses oxygen and moisture from
the air to create low levels of
hydrogen peroxide gas, which
diffuses throughout a large area,
eliminating all pathogens. We are
extremely excited about the
possibilities these devices offer to
the entire healthcare industry, and
we are eager to incorporate new
infection control technologies
into our service offering in the
near future.
Laundry & Linen–
New Glove Technology
Can Protect Workers
In an effort to ensure associate
comfort and safety, Crothall is
always seeking out new technologies
to aid in the linen sorting
process. Soiled linen is often
littered with needles and other
hazardous objects that are
improperly discarded, which can
make handling it a needlessly
dangerous task. Over the years,
Crothall has taken a leadership
role in working with various
manufacturers to develop a workfriendly
glove that can provide
adequate puncture protection as
well as meet all other personal
protection requirements. Currently,
Crothall is experimenting with
two new gloves which offer
tremendous protection as well as
comfort. Crothall hopes that new
technologies such as this will help
eliminate associate injury and
improve the quality of our service.
Patient Transportation–
Partnering with Awarix
Crothall celebrates our new
relationship with Awarix to
complete our comprehensive
solution for patient flow and
throughput challenges at four
current Crothall client hospitals.
While Crothall's tools provide real
time discharge information and
EVS task triggering capabilities,
Awarix provides a real time visual
display for key users to view
at-a-glance room availability. This
benefits all access points for
admissions, discharges, and
transfers. With the enhanced
visibility, patients may be able to
have multiple procedures and
tests completed in a single
transport. Nursing can spend
more time with patients and less
managing logistics. Communication
is facilitated, enhancing
efficiency, resource allocation, and
revenue.

Facilities Management–
Joint Commission
Preparation Intensifies
Joint Commission preparedness has
always been a strength for Crothall,
and is becoming increasingly
valuable to our clients. As part of the
new survey process, hospitals are
highly scrutinized by a Life Safety
Specialist. Intense reviews of the fire
and life safety systems have resulted
in a growing number of hospitals
receiving conditional accreditation.
Crothall's support mechanism has
proven invaluable in achieving
successful surveys. Most recently,
surveyors have focused on the Interim
Life Safety assessments and the
execution of Interim Life Safety
Measures. Assessments must be
completed not only for construction
projects but for every PFI of the
Statement of Conditions. Crothall's
experienced managers have the
training and processes to keep
hospitals compliant, even as Joint
Commission rules evolve and
become more stringent.
Clinical Equipment Services–
Dedication to Employee
Development
To invest in the professional growth
and development of our CES
associates, Crothall is offering an
educational reimbursement program
in several specialized fields. Certification
for Bio-Medical Equipment
Technicians (CBET), Radiology
Equipment Specialists (CRES), and
Clinical Laboratory Equipment
Specialists (CLES) are available,
including the costs of examination
fees and study resources. Courses
are offered through International
Certification Commission for Clinical
Engineering (ICC), and provided by
the Association for the Advancement
of Medical Instrumentation. By
empowering our employees to gain
higher level skills, Crothall demonstrates
our commitment to their
career and competence. This will
also broaden the capability of the
company as a whole to meet the
complex challenges of our clients.
Business & Industry–
US Beta Site Chosen for
Compass Global FM
Deployment
Crothall has chosen the BP (British
Petrochemical) site in Houston as the
test site for US deployment of the
newly developed Compass Global
Facilities Management Platform. The
on-site team led by Sean Shapert and
assisted by Chuck Morton and Rich
Feczko kicked off this exciting
process on September 15th, 2007.
The intent is to bring a standardized
service delivery model based on
global best practices to the field
operations team. Full implementation
is expected to bring improvements
in everything from productivity,
customer satisfaction, and employee
morale to increased profitability and
market share. The B&I group has
also spent a great deal of time
enhancing training programs and
procedural standardization to better
prepare for growth.

Crothall Cares
Erin Crimmins, 5-year-old
philanthropist
When Life
Gives You
Lemons...
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is a national charity that raises money to help kids with cancer. It started as a simple
idea and has grown into an organization that has raised over $12 million for childhood cancer research. This summer,
Crothall joined in the effort by purchasing cases of Country Time Lemonade (a sponsor that will donate a portion of
its sales to Alex's Lemonade Stand), which we made available to office employees in exchange for voluntary donations.
In addition, Crothall Cares will make a contribution to the charity on behalf of a local lemonade stand operated by
5 year old Erin Crimmins, niece of Tim Crimmins, a manager at Crothall Laundry Services - Lakeland, FL. We support
Erin and her efforts, and hope that she will inspire others to follow in her generous ways.
