Camden County Health Services, Blackwood, PA

Background Info: Camden County Health Services Center, a 449-bed, county-sponsored facility providing inpatient Long Term Care services for the aged and Behavioral Healthcare Services, was originally a BarnettCoyne housekeeping account, and rolled into an original Crothall account when Chris Coyne co-founded the new company. The hospital initially recruited Crothall to reorganize the department and raise standards. Crothall successfully met all quality goals and achieved substantial cost savings for the hospital. After a successful 15 year partnership, Camden County Health Services Center remains a highly valued Crothall customer.

Quote: “We have been extremely satisfied with the quality of work performed by Crothall’s staff. I am impressed by their proactive approach, responsiveness to problems, attention to detail, and overall willingness to “do whatever it takes” to get the job done to everyone’s satisfaction. This is not your typical housekeeping service. Crothall has added a level of sophistication combined with company back-up and support that provides our facility with added comfort. I commend Crothall for their ability to provide a high-quality service on a daily basis and would highly recommend your services to other organizations in the health care industry. Keep up the good work!

Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged has always been an active supporter of Crothall’s growth and development. A Crothall “Take-Over” Story by Debby Biller, a Crothall Unit Director

I was the Director of Environmental Services at Custom Management, a long term care/ rehab facility. In September 1991, while out on Maternity Leave, I received a call from my management team telling me that we had “been sold” and the new “owners” had just come in for a visit and were due back within the next few weeks. My assistant said the they were “mafia suit types” and were very intimidating. That was all I needed to hear. I decided to end maternity leave early, go back to the Center, and put these “intimidating new owners” in their place. The day had come for the confrontation. I was ready. I was nervous. My secretary called to tell me the “suits” were in. The door opened and in they walked. The first words out of my mouth were, “You’re it? You’re the ones who were here last week to meet my managers?” I did not know whether to laugh or cry. The “big intimidating mafia suits” were none other than mild-mannered Chris Coyne and a very young, affable John Gianotti. We must have made a pretty good impression as I remained at the Center for 15 months and could not have asked for two more generous, supportive, and caring managers to work with. In 2004, the Center changed its name to The Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged to reflect the change in services provided to the community. The Hebrew Rehab Center has grown into a world-renowned research facility and has been a valued Crothall customer for the entire 15 years.

Today, Debby Biller is a valued Crothall employee who works as a Director at Grady Health System in Atlanta.

Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee, Knoxville, TN

Background Info: Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee is a large facility that has been a Crothall customer from the very beginning. Despite its size, it consistently achieves one of the highest productivity rates of all Crothall accounts. Many Crothall employees remember the early days when much of the patient areas were covered in carpet and it required a high-level of cleaning to maintain a good appearance. But, the Crothall team did what it took to meet the hospital’s expectations and remained a service provider when the hospital implemented a Patient Focused Care model in the mid-1990s. Then, in September 2004, Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee awarded all housekeeping services to Crothall. Moving forward, Crothall’s new partnership with Triad (the hospital’s new owner) will be instrumental in helping to elevate Crothall’s technology and refurbish the facility. Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee has been a key customer for 15 years and the Crothall team remains committed and excited to offer solutions and support as the hospital continues to grow.

Quote: "I have had the opportunity to work with Nick Reynolds of Crothall for the past several years and have always received timely and responsive support. He and his team have partnered with us in meeting the environmental services needs of our organization. The longevity of our relationship with Crothall speaks to their ability to bring creative solutions to today’s healthcare workplace. I can tell you that Nick is a pleasure to work with and we consider him an extension of our leadership team. After many years, you almost forget that he is a Crothall employee. I imagine that this is the type of working relationship that few contract organizations ever achieve."

— Scott Schaffer, Vice President, Human Resources
Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee

Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, GA

Background Info: Athens Regional was the first real Housekeeping start-up account for Crothall (then Morrison-Crothall). 15 years later, we have successfully completed five renewals. In 1996, Athens began a linen consulting arrangement with Victor Kramer, which was later purchased by Crothall, where it remains a high-performing laundry client. It has always been a high quality facility, with a “zero defects” approach to service. In the first few years of Crothall, Athens was the primary tour account for prospective clients. It has had the distinction of achieving a perfect score on a JRC review. Recently, on a VHA customer satisfaction survey, the client rated Crothall a perfect 10. The facility has nearly doubled in size in the time we have served there.

Quote: Athens Regional Medical Center continues to be impressed with Crothall’s expertise, leadership, knowledge, resources, and commitment. Our laundry manager, housekeeping director and operational staff in terms of responsiveness, customer focus and top quality outcomes are the compelling reasons for Athens Regional Medical Center’s continued relationship with an outstanding management team. Corporate support is always available as a resource and the company takes great pride in visiting, rounding, tweaking the process, and in taking ARMC to greater heights with an outstanding management team. Additionally, since the contracting of housekeeping services in 1991 and the laundry service in 1996, we have had outstanding Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization surveys with no issues, which is remarkable. Likewise, over 14 years Crothall has continually satisfied our patients, staff, and family members with the cleanliness of our facility. The long-term profitability of the hospital has been greatly enhanced, because of our joint venture and their understanding of helping us meet our financial goals. In the finality, we consider Crothall a partner for life!
